Dean's Seminar: "Promoting Discovery: Expanding Student Access to Research Experiences"

Abstract: If you had a research experience as an undergraduate, then you likely know what a valuable learning experience it can be. Undergraduate research experiences can lead to gains such as enhanced student self-confidence, an improved ability to work independently, and increases in student retention. Unfortunately, because mentored research experiences are costly and time intensive, they are only offered to a small percentage of undergraduates at many institutions. Considering that these experiences can provide all students with important learning gains, this talk will explore cost and time-effective approaches to allow greater numbers of students to experience the wonder of answering unanswered questions.

This event is free and open to the Drexel community. Light refreshments will be served.
