“Meditation and Compassion: Awakening Authenticity” will take place Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, from noon-1 p.m. in MacAlister Hall, Room 2019/2020. Seating is first come, first served. No RSVP required. This workshop is open to all faculty, students and professional staff.
Through the practice of meditation, we can make a deep connection to the present moment and experience the fundamental goodness of our lives. By cultivating gentleness and strength of mind, we can discover our potential as genuine and compassionate human beings. In this workshop you will learn a basic mindfulness/awareness technique of meditation that you can apply to the complexities of work, relationships and other aspects of everyday life.
Our speaker Jude Robison has been practicing mindfulness meditation for 30 years. She has taught meditation in cities all across the United States and Canada. Formerly the co-director of Karme Choling Meditation Center in Vermont, she is currently teaching and working in Philadelphia. She enjoys teaching meditation to beginners, as well as those who wish to deepen their existing practice. |
