Title: “Uneducated Guesses: examples of how mistreating missing data yields to misguided policies” featuring speaker Howard Wainer, PhD, MA

Speaker: Howard Wainer, PhD, MA, Distinguished Research Scientist at National Board of Medical Examiners (Philadelphia) and Adjunct Professor of Statistics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania

Bio: Dr. Wainer has a longstanding interest in the use of graphical methods for data analysis and communication, robust statistical methodology, and the development and application of generalizations of item response theory. His books include "Uneducated Guesses" (Princeton University Press, 2011) and "A Statistical Guide for the Ethically Perplexed" (Chapman and Hall, 2012) and "Using Evidence, Visualization and Statistical Thinking to Improve Healthcare" (Oxford University Press, 2013). Dr. Wainer is a fellow of the American Statistical Association and American Educational Research Association, and he has received awards for his contributions from Educational Testing Service, the National Council on Measurement in Education, and the American Psychological Association. He has a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
