Join us for a talk from Yale Professor Michael D. Coe, author of The True History of Chocolate.
Yale Professor Emeritus Michael D. Coe is an American archaeologist, anthropologist, and author. He is world famous for his research and publications on the Maya, the Olmec, and pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. He co-authored The True History of Chocolate with his wife Sophie D. Coe, and he will be speaking about the history of this “food of the gods” from its earliest cultivation in the jungles of Mesoamerica, to the sweet treat we know and love today. The True History of Chocolate draws upon botany, archaeology, socio-economics, and culinary history to provide a complete and accurate history of one of the world’s favorite foods.
