Dialogue on Diversity-Campus Consciousness: The Impact of Race and Ethnicity on Communities of Color
Start Date: 1/7/2015Start Time: 4:00 PM
End Date: 1/7/2015End Time: 5:30 PM
Event Description
This dialogue is for the Drexel campus community to show support for community members of color, especially men who face unwarranted scrutiny and personal bias. In light of recent events covered in the media regarding race and the criminal justice system, we offer the opportunity to engage in facilitated dialogue that supports equity and the elimination of oppression at all levels. Some may focus on a critical analysis, building understanding about prejudice, oppression, power and culture. Others may be interested in changing attitudes and encouraging tolerance and inclusion. Both build competency and a desire for more connections by providing opportunities for participants to re-evaluate their own perspectives, while appreciating different points of view. We ask that all participants be respectful of one another.
