Event Description
Drexel’s chapter of the American Medical Association cordially invites you to our second annual MEDTALKS event. This event is similar to a TED Talks event, in that short presentations will be given by a variety of speakers. The theme this year is innovation; our guests will be sharing their work in creating and discovering new programs, technologies, or drugs. A few of the speakers include Dr. Rachel Levine, the Pennsylvania physician general; Dr. Michael Sofia, one of the chemists responsible for creating the cure for hepatitis C; and Dr. Charles Cutler, the newest president of the Pennsylvania Medical Society. We also have speakers who have done work in prison reform and a local start-up!
In addition to these guests, a number of medical students from the Philadelphia area will be presenting some of the research that they have done. This is a great opportunity to hear about the exciting advances going on in medicine.
