MLK Day Volunteer Opportunities

Event Description
Please join us this month as we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s commitment to service through three exciting volunteer opportunities.

Veterans Group Stand Down: Please join Drexel University and The Veterans Group as we partner with Global Citizen and Girard College for the largest MLK Day event in the nation! Sunday volunteer duties include setting up tables and sorting clothing donations. Monday volunteer duties include greeting Veterans, handing out hygiene products and clothing, helping Veterans create email address, and helping Veterans navigate benefits. Donations of clothing, coats and unused hygiene products are appreciated!
-Sunday January 15th, 2017 from 10:30am-2:30pm (lunch provided)
-Monday January 16th, 2017 from 7:30am-1:30pm (lunch provided)

McMichael School Makeover: Please join the McMichael School Family, including Drexel University, as we paint and clean the McMichael School for the benefit of its awesome students! This event is sponsored by the School of Education, LeBow Bridge and the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement.

Mural Arts Painting (Seven Shifts Available 1/17-1/31):Please join us in completing the mural designed by artist Betsy Casanas which will be installed on the Spring Garden bridge this spring. Volunteers with at least basic art skills are needed! Volunteer duties include painting by numbers seated or standing.
-Shifts Available January 17-31, 2017 anytime between 10am-5pm
