Start Date: 1/15/2020Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 1/15/2020End Time: 2:00 PM

Event Description
The increasing popularity of superhero media has led to discussion, both among fans and scholars, about “who gets to be a superhero.” Many of these discourses in superhero fandom are manifestations of tensions around gender, race, and politics in America. Join us as doctoral student in Communication, Culture and Media, Matt Griffin, discusses these social-cultural moments and presents methods of understanding them.
