Event Description
Colin Dawson, PhD, lecturer and researcher, School of Information, University of Arizona

Profile: Colin Dawson, PhD, is a lecturer and researcher in the School of Information at the University of Arizona. After majoring in cognitive science at Yale University, he attended the University of Arizona to pursue a PhD in cognitive psychology in LouAnn Gerken, PhD's lab.  There he discovered probabilistic machine learning, and found that the two fields had a lot to offer each other.  In order to develop the technical and theoretical understanding required to make original contributions to both fields, he began work toward a PhD in statistics.

In addition to being a lecturer and researcher,  Dawson teaches probability and statistics, works on a variety of artificial intelligence problems, and serves as a statistical consultant to colleagues in several departments.

This event is free and open to the Drexel community.
