Details: We are excited to share that Drs. Catherine Manno, MD and E. Anders Kolb, MD will be visiting Drexel University BIOMED's inaugural pediatric engineering class the evening of Wednesday, January 29th. They are distinguished guest lecturers who are presenting on the unmet clinical needs and current treatment paradigms in childhood cancers. As both are highly regarded for their expertise in the field, we are extending the invitation to welcome members of the Drexel family and friends to join us. Dr. Manno, the Pat and John Rosenwald Professor of Pediatrics and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, was instrumental in the development and launch of the Hassenfeld Children's Hospital at NYU Langone and will be traveling in from NYC. Dr. Kolb, among many leadership involvements, is the Director of the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research. We are extremely thrilled by the support and enthusiasm that we have received for expanding Drexel's global footprint in engineering and innovation for pediatric patients. The introduction of this program was met with great student demand, community interest and eager participation of leaders in the discipline. We are delighted to report multiple institutions will be represented in this first quarter, so stay tuned for future announcements. |
