Event Description Join A Healthier U for a financial fitness workshop in partnership with Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union. “Understanding Credit” will be held Jan. 8 from noon-1 p.m. in the Sky View Room, 6th Floor of MacAlister Hall. RSVP required by Dec. 23. RSVP to mfauble@drexel.edu. A light lunch will be served. Please include any dietary restrictions in your RSVP.
This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of what credit is, as well as how to build credit, how to keep good credit and how to avoid things that may damage credit. We will also review the advantages and disadvantages of bad credit. Participants will learn about credit reports and scores, how the major parts of your credit score are factored and what to do if there is an error on your report.
By the end of the seminar, participants will understand: what credit is; how to establish and build credit; how to keep good credit and avoid things that may damage your credit; the advantages of good credit vs. bad credit; your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act; how to obtain and analyze your credit report; what to do if there is an error on your credit report; how your credit score is calculated.
