Event Description

The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia Roadshow

This free event, hosted by Drexel University's School of Education, is designed for educators, professionals, parents, and students, with the goal of bringing awareness to dyslexia, often referred to as the hidden disability. The event features discussions on topics such as brain research and effective instruction. Keynote speaker Arlene Sonday, author and educational consultant, will focus on what dyslexia is and how to educate students and families about it at home and at school. The event concludes with a showing of the movie “The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia,” directed by James Redford, and a discussion panel.

Resources regarding instruction, specialized schools, and community groups will be available throughout the day.
