Event Description A Healthier U and the Drexel Meditation Group would like to invite you to a special emotional health workshop.
Mindfulness Meditation: Balancing Openness, Gentleness, and Precision
Tuesday October 29th 12:00-1:00pm MacAlister Hall 2019 No RSVP required, but space is limited.
This workshop will include guided instruction in mindfulness meditation, a short presentation, and plenty of time for questions and discussion. It will focus on deepening one's sense of what meditation is, and how meditation is an effective tool for working with stress, emotional reactivity, and other challenges in one's life. Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome.
Alexander deVaron has been teaching meditation since 1986. He is on the faculty of the Penn Program for Mindfulness, and for years taught their eight-week program in Mindfulness-based stress management. He also serves as the Shastri (senior teacher) for the Shambhala Meditation Center of Philadelphia, and is an assistant professor at Temple University's Esther Boyer College of Music and Dance.
This event is open to all Drexel faculty, professional staff, and students. Please contact Monica Fauble: mfauble@drexel.edu with questions. |
