Event Description As part of the Kal and Lucille Rudman Institute and Pennoni Honors College's Great Works Symposium, Donald Marguiles will visit Drexel to discuss his award-winning play, Time Stands Still. The play follows Sarah and James, a photo-journalist and a foreign correspondent, trying to adjust after being scarred, physically and emotionally, covering conflicts in the Middle East. We will have actors (including Nick Anselmo and Bruce Graham, who was in the Philadelphia production of the play) perform selected readings. In addition to Donald Margulies, speakers include:
Photojournalist Mike Kamber, formerly with New York Times in Baghdad and currently founder and director of the Bronx Documentary Center. His recent book is Photojournalists on War: The Untold Stories from Iraq.
Brian Palmer, journalist and filmmaker, directed Full Disclosure, a film about his time embedded with the US Marines in Iraq.
Sheila MacVicar, correspondent for Al Jazeera. In her time with ABC News, CBS News andCNN, Sheila is a multiple Emmy Award winner and covered conflicts in Iraq, Bosnia, Israel, Syria, Rwanda, Zaire and other locations. |
