Event Description

In 2007, the Drexel University School of Public Health inaugurated the annual Jonathan Mann Health & Human Rights Memorial Lecture series. This year we welcome Dana and David Dornsife to the School of Public Health.

Health and Human Rights:
The Quest for Water in Africa

Presented by Dana and David Dornsife

Dana L. (BS, LeBow College of Business ’83, HD ’14) and David H. Dornsife (HD ’14) will speak and answer questions about their extraordinary story of bringing fresh water to villages in more than 22 African nations. In partnership with World Vision, their work has provided water, sanitation and hygiene to more than 4 million people. Their inspiring commitment is also a story of problems, challenges, victories and transformation. Please join us for their personal account of how these water projects are helping to create healthier rural communities in Africa.

About the Lecture Series:
The endowed lecture series is named after Dr. Jonathan Mann (1947 - 1998), the renowned humanitarian and founding dean of the School of Public Health.  Although he served as the school's founding dean for less than a year, Dr. Mann's vision, passion and leadership forever instilled the values of public health as a human right at the School of Public Health.  Each speaker in the annual series will reflect Dr. Mann's principles.
