Women's Networking and Your Career Footprint

Event Description
Join LeBow College of Business, the Drexel Women in Businesss and the LeBow Institute for Strategic Leadership for a discussion on on networking and how to create a footprint for your career that will help you no matter your stage within it.

Bonnie Richards ‘92, Senior Vice President - Wealth Management, UBS Financial Services and Valerie Marcolongo, ‘90, ‘00, Owner of ENCADA LLC, an Engineering Systems Integration Consultancy, will have a dialogue about networking as just one component of the skills and attributes needed to achieve career goals. These successful women will talk about how the foundation that you create, or recreate, for yourself through networking, collaboration, leadership and other attributes, should work together to help support what you are trying to achieve. The takeaways will be useful no matter your industry or stage in your career.

Bonnie Richards spent over 15 years as a tax attorney and certified public accountant advising entrepreneurs, C-level executives and closely-held businesses prior to joining UBS as SVP Wealth Advising. Her technical training and years of industry experience allow her to assist in the planning process as well as provide a full complement of expertise rarely available from one individual. Bonnie is also a member of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bar Associations, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Drexel University Advisory Leadership Council. Bonnie has an L.L.M. in taxation from New York University, a J.D. from Temple University and a B.S. from Drexel University, cum laude. She also studied international human rights law at Oxford University. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Phil.

Valerie Marcolongo is the President and Founder of Encada, LLC. Encada, LLC is an Infrastructure Management firm founded in 2004, whose focus is on Railway and Transit Engineering that integrates who’s focus is on Railway and Transit Engineering that integrates Operations, Asset Management and Resource Planning Systems to measure the performance of the business. After earning an undergraduate degree from Drexel in Mechanical Engineering, Valerie completed the Career Development Program at Air Products and Chemicals, moved on to Fluor Daniel, Inc. and was the youngest project engineer on a $1 billion program for Eastman Kodak in mainland China. While at Fluor, Valerie earned her Executive MBA from Drexel and it was through an EMBA classmate that led her to join Amtrak and focus her career on Transportation.

Drexel LeBow’s Institute for Strategic Leadership (ISL) is distinctive among U.S. universities in combining the study of leadership with an examination of collaboration, viewing leadership as a collective, not solely individual, process. ISL takes research a step further and examines how the thought leadership of LeBow faculty can be applied within organizations to change and influence behavior and outcomes.
