Drexel Engineering will be kicking-off the first event of the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series with Dr. Cameron Abrams, professor of chemical and biological engineering. Dr. Abrams will discuss the multi-front fight against AIDS and how the development of a new microbicide can play an important role in interrupting the transmission of HIV. Dr. Abrams will also describe how the ideal microbicide will selectively and irreversibly destroy a live infectious virus while leaving human cells unaffected and will be inexpensive and simple to use.
