Event Description
These two sessions will explore the core principles and practices of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction is a secular set of practices that help us to address the ways we live that increase stress and undermine our health.

During the first session, we will focus on what happens when we bring mindfulness to feelings in the body and habitual thoughts.

In the second session we will continue training in mindfulness meditation and working with thoughts, then explore emotions in this context.
The goal of these two sessions is to give you a taste of the power of these techniques, and a sense of how to apply them in your life. What you learn in each session will be helpful both at home and at work. Each meeting will include a brief presentation, guided meditations, and discussion.

We recommend that you attend both sessions in order to take full advantage of these offerings. In part one, we will begin with self-compassion and acceptance as the basis for change. From there we will examine what happens when we bring mindfulness to feelings in the body and habitual thoughts. In part two, we will continue training in mindfulness meditation and working with thoughts, then explore emotions in this context. We will conclude with further discussion on how to bring these tools into situations we encounter in our daily life.
