Event Description
You are invited to International Café! This month will feature “Superpowers in the Motherland: Africa’s Changing Economy,” with guest speaker Alden Young, PhD, director of Africana studies, and assistant professor in the Department of History and Politics at Drexel University.

 

Young will discuss the historical and present motivations, repercussions, and benefits of the major superpowers and their investments in Africa. How do investments connect to development? Are these investments mutually beneficial?

International Café is a monthly forum sponsored by International Area Studies and the College of Arts and Sciences that provides globally themed discussions that are open to the entire Drexel community. Refreshments provided. For more information, please contact Jacqueline Rios at jsr62@drexel.edu.
