Psychological Flexibility as a Cornerstone of Wellbeing: An Experiential Workshop
Start Date: 10/24/2017Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Date: 10/24/2017End Time: 1:00 PM
Event Description
Psychological flexibility is our ability to recognize and adapt to various situations and shift both our mind and body towards the people and actions that are important to us. This workshop will offer an introduction to the psychological flexibility model in a manner that is accessible and can be applied to daily life. Participants will gain insight into how trying to get away from internal discomfort can keep us from living a meaningful and vital life. Participants will be assisted in noticing their ability to move towards what is important to them and how to create curiosity and kindness for difficult thoughts and feelings.  Come experience how psychological flexibility can help you live a more meaningful and vital life.

Michael Gotlib, Psy.D. joined Drexel's Counseling Center in August 2016. Dr. Gotlib is the group and workshop coordinator at the Counseling Center and maintains a part-time private practice at the Center for Emotional Health in Cherry Hill, NJ. Dr. Gotlib has extensive training in mindfulness-based treatments from his clinical trainings at Princeton University, the University of Iowa, the Yale Center for Anxiety and Mood Disorders, and the Yale School of Medicine.  Dr. Gotlib also works with non-clinical populations (coaching) to foster psychological flexibility, self-compassion and vital living.
