Associate Professor of Nursing in the Doctoral Nursing Department and Department of Nutrition Sciences at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions.
The Aging of America continues to impact health care delivery in the United States. Nutrition plays a vital role in successful aging and is an important component of the comprehensive geriatric assessment. However, malnutrition is a serious problem in older adults and can negatively impact recovery and health outcomes. This session will highlight the research on malnutrition and recovery in older adults during the transition between hospital and home. Clinical practice initiatives and policy implications will also be presented..
