The iForum Discusses: Modern Day Segregation?
Start Date: 10/25/2018Start Time: 4:00 PM
End Date: 10/25/2018End Time: 5:00 PM

Event Description

Three quarters of white people don't have any non-white friends. Most African Americans live in neighborhoods where the percentage of black residents is nearly four times their share of the national population. And, the number of racially isolated schools in America approximately doubled between 1996 and 2016. What does segregation look like in the modern day? What roles do we—as individuals and as a University—play in building more integrated and inclusive communities?

The next meeting of the Forum for Inclusive Culture (iForum) will take place on Thursday, October 25, at 4 p.m. in the James E. Marks Intercultural Center (3225 Arch Street), and is being co-sponsored by the Lindy Center and the Office of Equality and Diversity. Some sweet treats will be provided. Email jkrohn@drexel.edu to RSVP, provide feedback on the discussion topic, and/or suggest additional agenda items.

About the iForum: The iForum is an open-membership coalition of students, faculty, professional staff, and community members that gathers no less than quarterly to address issues of diversity and inclusion affecting the Drexel community. Meetings typically begin with announcements, have a central discussion topic, and close out with suggestions, determination of next steps, and troubleshooting. All are welcome to come and participate, and we value newcomers who keep the group fresh and responsive to developments on campus. Join us!
