Healthy eating is only half the equation in maintaining good health. This year, A Healthier U teamed up with both Retail Management AND the Drexel Recreation Center to bring you the best food choices on campus alongside fitness-related offerings at this year’s simultaneous Drexel Food Day and Recreation Center Open House.
Enjoy give-aways from our friends at the Drexel Recreation Center, who will also be sponsoring this event. The Recreation Center will provide information and special offers from Drexel Proactive Health—which includes Personal Training, Nutrition Services, and Massage Therapy—as well as information about the benefits of being a Recreation Center member.
Each professional staff or faculty member who donates 5 canned or boxed food items to benefit Philabundance will receive a free 1-week pass to the Drexel Recreation Center.
Existing members can donate their 1-week pass to a friend or can extend their own membership.
In an effort to better educate Drexel faculty, professional staff and students about how to choose healthier food options, the Office of University Wellness has created the Healthier U Selections program, which identifies healthier menu choices in University dining facilities. Each Selections item is low in saturated fat and sodium and high in fiber.
Come learn about the Selections program first-hand at Drexel Food Day, and find out for yourself how delicious and satisfying healthy eating can be!
