An STI/HIV Clinic in Tel Aviv - Addressing the needs of people involved in prostitution and other populations excluded from health and welfare services
 
The Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics welcomes:

Yael Goor, Director 
Levinsky Clinic and Clinic for Women in Prostitution, Tel Aviv, Israel – Israel Ministry of Health
 
Yael Goor is a social worker, a group facilitator, and a social activist in the field of women's empowerment. Over the past 15 years she has been serving as Director of the Levinski Clinic, an HIV/AIDS and STI's clinic, operating under Israel’s  Ministry of Health. The clinic is dedicated to promoting health and social care to high risk and neglected populations, including:  women, men and transgenders in prostitution; drug addicts; the homeless; victims of sexual assault; teenagers and youth; refugees and asylum seekers; and people in the LGBT community. As the clinic director, Yael is engaged with social policy and individual processes to  provide support in securing the right to dignity, health and life for individuals.  Led by Yael, the Levinski Clinic won the Entrepreneur Social Worker Award of the Recanati foundation in 2006, and the National Medal for combating human trafficking in 2013. Together with her partners from the healthcare team of Levinski, Yael has published several articles dealing with various aspects of prostitution in Israel.
