Details:
This seminar will review the definitions, policies and resources relevant for academic conduct and research ethics. Drexel's policies and their implementation in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, as well as the School's own policies, will be explained. These policies affect all faculty, students, staff, and any Biomed community members.

Biosketches:
Andres Kriete, PhD, is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Teaching Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems at Drexel University. He received training in computational biology in academic, clinical and industrial environments and joined Drexel University in 2003. His research interests include cell aging, skin cancer, computational modeling, aging pathways, and is a collaborating partner in the Aging Initiative at Drexel University College of Medicine.

John F. Domzalski, JD, MPH, FCPP, is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems, Drexel University. He is former Health Commissioner, City of Philadelphia, a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and a member of the Pennsylvania Bar. His public health practice encompasses work in military preventive medicine with service in Inchon Korea, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health (Harrisburg) and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, where he was a three time appointee to the position of Health Commissioner. Leadership in public health crises situations and innovation in public health and health care delivery have been hallmarks of his public health practice. He received the Juris Doctor degree from Temple University School of Law and the Master of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. The Bachelor of Science was earned at Bloomsburg University. He teaches the law and ethics of human experimentation (Biomedical Ethics and Law) and health policy (Health Care Administration and Hospital Administration)

Meredith Wooten, PhD, is the Director of the Center for Scholar Development, housed within the Pennoni Honors College of Drexel University. In this role, she focuses on advising students applying for major fellowships or postgraduate opportunities, as well as promoting academic enrichment opportunities on and off campus. She works closely with partners across the university to offer skills-based workshops and resources, as well as to develop programs that will empower students to make more intentional and informed choices about their educational and professional paths. Before coming to Drexel, Meredith taught political science at several Philadelphia-area institutions, including Haverford College, Bryn Mawr College, and the University of Pennsylvania. Her background in academic advising and support includes serving as a graduate fellow at the Penn Graduate Student Center, where she focused on PhD support programs and outreach efforts to students from non-traditional and underrepresented groups. She holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Bryn Mawr College and PhD in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
