New Documentary Film from Cuba

Event Description
Presented by Americas Media Initiative (AMI), Elena, a new documentary film from Cuba, follows several residents in the Elena building in Central Havana over a three-year period. The film is one of the first contemporary investigative documentaries made in Cuba about a serious housing problem. The film is in Spanish with English subtitles; the screening will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker, Marcelo Martín, and AMI’s director, Alexandra Halkin.
