Fractals at Infinity: Finite Subdivision Rules
Start Date: 11/3/2014Start Time: 3:00 PM

Event Description
Brian-Lindsey Rushton, Temple University

Abstract: Subdivision rules are a relatively new technique for constructing fractal-like boundaries for infinite groups. The combinatorics of these fractals correspond in a very precise way to the geometry of the groups they belong to. We discuss the existence and uniqueness of subdivision rules for infinite groups.
