Practical Negotiating: Tools, Tactics and Techniques by Tom Gosselin of Tom Gosselin & Associates Inc.

Conflict is inevitable! Therefore — Negotiation is a survival skill. From the sandbox to the Sinai, all of us need a method to reach workable agreements or suffer the consequences of unresolved conflicts. This workshop helps develops the tools, tactics and techniques to deal with the wide variety of negotiation situations that arise with clients, vendors and upper management. Using a pre-program survey, we will help you discover your natural Negotiating Style. During the workshop, we use interactive simulations and paired role playing to help enhance your negotiating skills.
Learning outcomes:
- Assess your natural Negotiating Style.
- Develop your negotiating skills: Asserting and Questioning
- Distinguish between wants and needs – yours and the other party’s
- Creatively develop and use currencies to close the gap

Workshop Leader Bio:
Tom has over 25 years of training and consulting in negotiation and sales. He has worked extensively with clients in financial services, consulting, professional services, executive search, manufacturing, travel services, and consumer products. Tom’s real intellectual passion lies in developing the practical applications of negotiation theory. In addition to his workshops in negotiating, Tom’s book, Practical Negotiating: Tools, Tactics, and Techniques,(John Wiley & Sons, 2007) has been hailed as “a thoughtful, engaging, and practical guide on a topic of increasing importance to leaders and organizations.” |
