Event Description Jairam R. Eswara, MD, director of urologic trauma and reconstruction at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, will discuss how urology as a surgical subspecialty has been an early adopter of many new technologies that are now considered common. The use of fiberoptic visualization, laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery, energy transfer for tissue ablation, biomaterials, imaging, and drug delivery systems have all played a major role in the field. This presentation will discuss a number of these contributions as well as highlight areas for potential technological development within the field.
