Wills and Estate Planning Workshop

Event Description
This workshop, presented by Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union in partnership with A Healthier U as well as the Earle Mack School of Law, will provide participants with a basic understanding of estate planning. RSVP is required; please RSVP by Nov. 7 to Monica Fauble at mfauble@drexel.edu. A light lunch will be served. Please include any dietary restrictions in your RSVP.

Topics covered will include how to get started on planning for death and incapacity, what constitutes your probate and non-probate estate, why you might consider executing a will, durable power of attorney, health care power of attorney, living will and/or revocable trust, and how your estate planning may change over time. By the end of the seminar, participants will be familiar with:
  • The terminology and default rules associated with inheritance
  • Why you need a will
  • Some general concepts governing wills and trusts
  • Identifying probate and non-probate assets 
  • Advance directives, including living wills, health care powers of attorney and financial powers of attorney.
