Event Description
Meghan Butryn, PhD, associate research professor of psychology

Two-thirds of adults in the U.S. are overweight or obese. Many of them intend to eat a healthier diet and exercise more in order to improve their health and quality of life, but find that adopting and maintaining new habits is difficult. Recent research has validated the challenges of lifestyle modification, while also providing hope that more effective approaches to weight-related behavior change may be on the horizon. This presentation will describe the newest advances in this field, including the work being conducted by Butryn and her colleagues in the Department of Psychology.
