Boren Awards Webinar

End Date: 11/4/2015End Time: 6:30 PM

Event Description

The Boren Awards, an initiative of the National Security Education Program (NSEP), fund undergraduate (up to $20,000) and graduate (up to $24,000)  US citizens to study less commonly taught languages in world regions that are critical to U.S. national security and under-represented in study abroad. The awards promote long term cultural and linguistic immersion in countries in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Boren applicants should be highly motivated individuals with an interest in serving in the federal national security arena. National security is broadly defined, to recognize global challenges such as sustainable development, environmental degradation, global disease and hunger, population growth and migration, or economic competitiveness. In exchange for funding, Boren awardees commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation.

To be eligible for the Boren Scholarship, you must be enrolled in an undergraduate program, and remain enrolled until you have completed the scholarship.

To be eligible for the Boren Fellowship, you must be applying to or enrolled in a graduate program, and remain enrolled until you have completed the fellowship.

The Drexel Fellowships Office works closely with Boren applicants and arranges a campus review process to review applications. This info session provides an overview of the program’s requirements and application process.

CAMPUS DEADLINE: January 5, 2016, 12PM EST.
