There is a lot of controversy right now about cholesterol. How high is too high? What about the relationship between cholesterol and dietary fat? What about inflammation and its impact on cholesterol readings? What does current research reveal about cholesterol and what is all the controversy really about? Come explore these questions and learn what you need to know to understand how cholesterol might impact your overall health.
Ana Núñez, MD, is a practicing internist at Drexel Internal Medicine in Center City Philadelphia. She specializes in community health education and sex and gender medicine. She has expertise in a holistic, patient centered approach to care – attending to unique issues for the individual patient. Her Philadelphia Ujima project has more than 28 region-wide collaborators working together to improve the health of people living in Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She has expertise in nutrition and health, women’s heart health, health literacy, minority health, the impact of culture on health and primary care education.
