Event Description This special session was designed to introduce faculty and professional staff to Drexel’s growing population of student veterans, their specific needs, the Yellow Ribbon Program and veteran services available on campus.
This presentation will discuss how shared governance is creating a military friendly culture on campus and how military culture and traditions contribute to the student veteran classroom experiences and transition challenges. What do these men and women bring home and into the classroom? How do their experiences manifest themselves physically and cognitively? Participants will be able to share their concerns and explore new classroom strategies.
An overview of Drexel’s Veteran Services will also be provided. Come and learn about university wide programming and how you can help address concerns and create solutions. Hear how one department is working with veterans to offer more inclusive services and programs.
