Event Description
For Makers Meetup #15 we will be featuring NINE of the many great companies participating in the NYC FutureWorks Incubator.
We will also be hearing from Katey Metzroth and Phil Waller of SecondMuse (which runs the FutureWorks Incubator for NYCEDC) on how cities are inspiring a new age of advanced manufacturing in New York City and beyond. Katey - who presented at our very first Makers Meetup - actually lives in Fishtown; she and Phil are working to bring a hardware incubator to Philadelphia.
The presenting companies include:
Bonbouton - Smart Clothes, Wiser Humans.
TrakBelt360 - The first utility belt that lets you rotate tool pouches around your waist for safety, comfort and complete versatility.
Modos Furniture - A reconfigurable furniture system that assembles without tools.
Proto Sauce - Producing advanced resins for SLA and DLP 3D printing.
Space Ink - Designing and making products for physical and mental fitness.
Thimble.io - Fun electronics that teach robotics and programming.
Urban Leaf - We make growing food at home fun, easy and accessible.
WaveBlock Construction System - Advanced Mechanical Structures for the rest of us.
The program and networking will begin at 5:00 with a table-top Showcase featuring the presenting companies and others. That's when we also lay out the free food, including a selection of gourmet pizzas, sodas and beer.
