Event Description The next CASTLE Pedagogical Happy Hour, “Developing a Science Course Using Inside-Out Pedagogy” will be on Thursday, November 30th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm and features, Susan Gurney PhD, Assistant Teaching Professor; Biology.
Dr. Gurney will share some of the pedagogy strategies from her training with Inside-Out, an international program which brings together college students with incarcerated individuals within a prison environment to learn together. Dr Gurney will discuss the challenges of applying these approaches to teaching science in the classroom.
The CASTLE Pedagogical Happy Hour is a monthly program hosted by the Center for the Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning Excellence (CASTLE) and sponsored by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI).The event offers a casual environment for faculty to share ideas about STEM teaching and learning while enjoying refreshments.
