Drexel University's Pennoni Honors College has launched an entertaining new podcast, Pop, the Question, homegrown by its Marketing & Media team. Now available online to subscribe, download, and stream, Pop, the Question is a spirited dialogue about the crossroads of popular culture and academia. Podcast host and Associate Director of Marketing & Media, Dr. Melinda Lewis, engages guests in conversation about the ways in which pop culture intersects with their interests and fields of study.

 

The series premiere features Ann Alexander, Pennoni Honors College Director of Finance & Administration, in a discussion about "The Cult of the Superhero Movie." With superhero fans, actors, and production companies chasing down the next big hit, the industry runs a risk of oversaturating the market for comic book screen adaptations. Dr. Lewis talks with her guest about this media phenomenon, including the increasing popularity and financial ramifications of superheroes and their universes.
