Event Description
A Pop-Up Workshop hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Health Professions Scholarship Program; and Military Medicine

Register for the workshop

Pop-up Workshops are informal sessions where students have the opportunity to hear from and interact with different speakers on a variety of topics.

This panel discussion aims to introduce future and current physicians and/or clinicians to the unique needs of our veteran and military-affiliated community. Over the past few years, we have seen a continued increase in veteran and military-affiliated populations choosing health services outside of, or in addition to, the VA. As a practicing physician, it is crucial to understand how best to support and treat the members of our armed forces. This workshop will require you to critically think about what it means to care for a veteran or military-affiliated patient, including: questions you should ask, circumstances to be aware of, follow-up services to prescribe, and so on.
