Learn more about how you can become a certified teacher and earn a generous tuition scholarship as well as salary and benefits from the School District of Philadelphia at our Philadelphia Teacher Residency program online information session.
At the information session, you will hear from faculty and staff who will explain the different types of teacher certification options available, the types of courses, and how Teacher Residency model works.
Students accepted into the program work side-by-side with a mentor teacher in a Philadelphia public school for approximately one year where they learn methods and practices for leading a class. Upon successful completion of the program, students are hired by the district to teach in a public school.
Please note, only students who are accepted into the School District of Philadelphia's grant for the Teacher Residency program will receive a salary and health benefits. Students not accepted into the program may be eligible for a tuition scholarship and stipend through a grant with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
