Title: Dean's Seminar: Computational Design for Molecular Photovoltaics, Carbon Nanotubes, and Nanowires
The ability to modulate electronic properties using nanotechnology holds great promise for creating next-generation transistors, circuits, and nanoscale devices. In particular, the use of predictive first-principles calculations (simulations that do not require observation or experimentation) plays a vital role in rationally guiding experimental efforts to optimize energy harvesting in nanoscale materials.
In this seminar, Bryan Wong, PhD, will highlight recent work on energy transfer mechanisms in three areas of computational materials science. The use of computational design in these material systems allows a truly predictive capability to understand the intricacies of energy transfer in large nanosystems.
This event is free and open to the Drexel community. Light refreshments will be served. |
