Event Description
The next meeting of the Forum for Inclusive Culture (I-Forum) will take place on Thursday, November 2 at 1 p.m., location TBA. Please feel free to bring your lunch; we will provide beverages and other treats. Please email jkrohn@drexel.edu to RSVP, provide feedback on the discussion topic, and/or suggest additional agenda items.
One topic that has repeatedly surfaced in our conversations is the idea of boundaries, in various forms: just to name a few, we’ve tangentially addressed the emotional and temporal boundaries we set in the interests of self-care, the boundaries of what makes discourse positive and challenging or merely offensive, and how to break down boundaries that stand in the way of inclusion. At our next meeting, we will be putting the idea of boundaries front and center.
The I-Forum is an open-membership coalition of students, faculty, professional staff, and community members that gathers no less than quarterly to address issues of diversity and inclusion on Drexel’s campus. Meetings typically begin with announcements, have a central discussion topic, and close out with suggestions, determination of next steps, and troubleshooting. All are welcome to come and participate, and we value newcomers who keep the group fresh and responsive to developments on campus. Join us! |
