Event Description Join A Healthier U for a special lecture entitled, “Spring Into Spring: Exploring the Force of Springtime in Yourself and Your Surroundings,” presented by Monica Fauble, A Healthier U program coordinator and acupuncture intern. Learn about household and environmental toxins to avoid, and learn how to resonate with spring, a time of new beginnings in Chinese medicine.
This event will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 5, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Sky View Room, 6th Floor of MacAlister Hall. RSVP required; please RSVP to mfauble@drexel.edu by Jan. 27 and indicate any dietary concerns. A light lunch will be served.
When spring finally arrives, most of us sigh in relief. Flowers! Plants! Birds! Light! Vision! Hope! No more wintry cold! This workshop will provide an overview of how Chinese medicine views the season of spring and what you can do to attune to this time of transition and take advantage of this time of rapid growth and development. We will also discuss common environmental toxins such as phthalates, BPA (Bisphenol A) and toxins found in cosmetics and beauty products. In honor of the concept of “spring cleaning,” we will discuss simple ways that you can better avoid these endocrine disruptors.
This workshop will provide fun interactive components as well as time for questions and discussion. It is open to all faculty, professional staff and students. |
