Compassion Meditation

Event Description
Compassion Meditation refers to a number of traditional contemplative practices intended to awaken the heart, ease suffering, and cultivate happiness. Dr. Rosenzweig will present a brief overview of Compassion Meditation, discuss findings from neurocognitive research, and guide participants through two brief compassion practices.

 Steven Rosenzweig, M.D. is Clinical Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine where he directs curricula in Bioethics, Professionalism and Medical Humanities, and teaches contemplative seminars on mindfulness and compassion. He is a Palliative Care physician who has been teaching mindfulness and imagery practices to care-providers, students and patients since 2003.
