Abstract
This work proposes a methodology for modeling and simulating information-embedded multi-converter power systems. The work is motivated by the need for enhanced monitoring schemes that can provide the power system operator with useful information that will aid in anticipating instabilities and preventing cascading failures in the event of a disturbance.

This work proposes a model for a DC-DC multi-converter power system that includes both power system variables as well as information variables. A source of uncertainty is introduced into the model in the form of communication network delay, the effects of which on the multi-converter system are investigated. A metric that is descriptive of the dynamic stability of the system is presented with the goal of identifying operational limits and aiding implementation of appropriate control strategies that account for communication network effects on the power system.
