Celebrate what makes the Academy great with exciting new stage shows, fascinating fossils, hands-on science, and special specimens from our collections.
Wednesday, December 28: Dinosaurs Unearthed Day
Come face-to-face with fossils, meet living relatives of these ancient beasts, and explore the world of the dinosaurs all day at the Academy. For added adventure, purchase tickets to see Dinosaurs Unearthed and enjoy roaring, moving dinosaurs that bring the past to life.

Animals of the Academy
11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Learn all about the animals that call the Academy home and their adaptations, habitats, similarities and differences. Meet some furry, feathery, and scaly Academy ambassadors!
Auditorium Show: Dandy Dinos and Bodacious Birds
1 p.m.
Even though dinosaurs have been gone for millions of years, their legacy lives on in their closest relatives: birds! Learn about reptiles through the ages, and meet some of our fine -feathered friends to explore how birds are related to dinosaurs.
Dinosaur Details Microscope Cart
Fossils are more fascinating under a microscope! Get “eye to eye” with a trilobite or “down to the bone” with a hadrosaur femur at this technology-enabled educational cart.
Dinosaurs 101
Explore real specimens and talk to the Academy’s own dinosaur enthusiasts as you get close to a coprolite or touch some T. rex teeth.
Get Collected
If you could be an Academy specimen, what would you be? In this activity, choose a Latin name to describe yourself then make yourself a collection tag to take home. Step into the specimen box and take your photo at this unique photo op.
Live Reptile Exploration Station
Dinosaurs may be the most famous reptiles to ever walk the planet, but we’ve got some pretty cool LIVE snakes, turtles, and lizards right here at the Academy! Use cutting-edge technology to explore their miniature world at this interactive cart featuring the Academy’s live animal ambassadors.
Dinosaur Story Time
2 p.m.
Marty the Moose loves nothing more than entertaining the crowds with his terrible jokes and goofy sense of humor. Join Marty and his favorite humans for a special dinosaur edition of story time.
3-D Dinosaur Craft
Decorate and assemble your own 3-D dinosaur friend to take home.
