This MERHG (Migration, Ethnicity, Race and Health Group) Colloquium is open to all.
 
Topic: Measuring women's empowerment in cities and its association with characteristics of urban environment in Latin American cities.

Ana Ortigoza, PhD, Urban Health Collaborative Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Dornsife School of Public Health, will discuss the creation and implementation of a women’s empowerment score to assess inequalities and bridge the gender gap in Latin America. She will address how levels of women’s empowerment vary across cities in Latin America and what factors in the social environment are associated with higher levels of women’s empowerment.
