Learning Objectives
- Describe the burden of illnesses caused by antimicrobial resistant pathogens and antimicrobial use strategies to reduce resistance
- Understand the science behind “recommend” duration of antimicrobial therapy and review recent evidence that should guide shorter duration of therapy
- Plan strategies to decrease duration of antibiotic therapy for specific indication in the neonatal intensive care unit(s)
