Learning Objectives

  • Identify the stress integrative locus coeruleus (LC)-norepinephrine (NE) system
  • Discuss the impact of stress and stress-related neurocircuitry on the progression of Alzheimer’s disease (AD)
  • Discuss the hallmark features of AD, including behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD)
  • Discuss the clinical and preclinical studies investigating the role of stress and LC-NE system perturbations on AD neuropathology
  • Discuss the impact of NE in regulating endogenous murine amyloid beta peptides
