Dean's Seminar: "Open Access, Digital Infrastructure, and the Future of Scholarly Publishing"
How do emerging digital platforms advance and transform academic publishing? What are the risks associated with “open access”? How might we broaden dissemination of scholarship and the range of activities valued in higher education?
Ali Kenner, PhD, addresses these questions for the social sciences and reflects on recent trends in scholarly communication including new publishing models, digital infrastructure and burgeoning online academic communities. She’ll also discuss contemporary issues in scholarly communication, how these issues relate to university libraries, professional associations and higher education as a whole, as well as innovations at play in the world of publishing.
This event is free and open to the Drexel community. Light refreshments will be served. |
