"The Art of the Moving Camera" with Steadicam inventor Garrett Brown

Event Description
Three-time Academy Award winner Garret Brown, inventor of the groundbreaking Steadicam film camera, will present a talk on the Art of the Moving Camera, this Tuesday, Feb. 4th, at 3:30 in the URBN Annex screening room. The Steadicam revolutionized the ability of the camera to move and capture shots within cinema. Garrett holds 50 patents for camera devices, invented the Skycam, the Mobicam, the Flycam and the Gocam systems. He has been the Steadicam operator on over 70 feature films and has worked with Stanly Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, George Lucas, Woody Allen and Steven Spielberg, shooting some of the most famous moving shots in cinema. Garrett has been elected to The Inventors Hall Of Fame and has won numerous other awards within the motion picture industry. The public is invited.
